Kado Ji-Tag Valentine's Day

Yes..... akhirnya aku bisa bernapas lega karena bisa share dikit tentang rahasia dapur aku. Terus terang bro aku sendiri kaga' begitu ngerti dengan apa yang namanya TAG, kalo nurut aku nih Tag singkatan dari THINK ABOUT GUE, maksudnya sesuatu mengenai diri sendiri. Apalagi pake bahasa Inggris, Aku sendiri ngerasa KATRO' ama yang namanya bahasa Internasional itu. Tapia ku coba tuk ngertiin maksudnya meski sambil buka-buka BUKU PRIMBON hehehe... Banyak sekali sobat yang udah berbagi, tapi aku minta maaf yang sebesar-besarnya karena kaga' bisa nyebutin semuanya (maklum udah pelupa), diantaranya yang sempat aku hafal yaitu sobat RizkyAsli Cah Tulungagung, sobat Jhonson ManurungBRI Cab. Veteran Jkt, dan sobat AlkatroAlkatro Zone.

Sekedar tambahan aja, khususnya buat sahabat yang belum pernah dapet Tag seperti ini ikutin aja aturan mainnya, jawab pertanyaan yang berwarna biru dengan jawaban sobat sendiri, jawaban boleh bahasa indonesia, bahasa inggris atau bahasa yang bisa dimengerti manusia, yang penting jawaban ga' sama persis dengan jawabanku. Kata guruku dilarang mencontek kecuali kepepet, silahkan kasihkan ke sahabat blogger yang lain. Jelas kan....?? kalau masih ada yang kurang jelas jangan sungkan u/ bertanya.....

Some love stories are immortal. And the true love story of Antony and Cleopatra is one of the most memorable, intriguing and moving of all times. The true story of these two historical characters had later been dramatized by the maestro William Shakespeare and is still staged all over the world. The relationship of Antony and Cleopatra is a true test of love.

One of the most famous women in history, Cleopatra VII was the brilliant and beautiful last Pharaoh of Egypt. The woman was legendary, not only for her breathtaking beauty but also for her great intellect. She was proficient in nine languages and was also a skilled mathematician. She is often considered to be a stunning seductress though she was studying to be a nun. She became the mistress of the famous emperor Julius Caesar. After he was slain, she was accused of having been a party to Ceaser's assassination, for there was a rumor in Rome that Cleopatra had given help to Cassius, one of the assassins of Caesar.

Matters came to such a head that Caesar's successor and best friend Mark Anthony, the present emperor of Rome, summoned Cleopatra to explain herself at his headquarters in Anatolia. In the spring of the year 41 BC. she crossed the Mediterranean to see him.

But as she saw Marc Antony, she fell in love with him, and he with her, almost instantly. Sometime later the emperor accepted her invitation to visit her in Egypt and arrived in Alexandria in time to spend a winter of pleasure.

The relationship between these two powerful people put the country of Egypt in a powerful position. But their love affair outraged the Romans who were wary of the growing powers of the Egyptians. Despite all the threats, Anthony and Cleopatra got married at Antioch(in Syria) in 36 BC.

Together, Antony and Cleopatra, formed a formidable ruling power. They were now openly together; and openly a team against Octavian, Antony's rival for power in Rome. As a Roman general, with a powerful army in the eastern provinces, Antony gave his new wife a spectacular wedding present - much of the Middle East. In 34 BC, he declared Cleopatra to be the Queen of Kings and Caesarion the King of Kings, jointly ruling over Egypt and Cyprus and joint overlords of the kingdoms of the other children.

In the tradition of many eastern monarchies, Cleopatra and Antony now began presenting themselves as divine. To Greeks they appeared as Dionysus and Aphrodite; to Egyptians as Osiris and Isis.

But Octavian, Antony's rival in power, had had enough of it. He was a blood-relative of Ceaser. how could he bear to see Antony taking his uncle's place? In 31 BC, he declared a war against Antony. The battle between the forces of Octavian and of Antony and Cleopatra took place at Actium, in Greece, on 2 September 31.


The exact course of the battle is not known, but it is said that while fighting a battle in Actium, Antony got false news of Cleopatra's death. Shattered, he fell on his sword. It is also said that Antony escaped to Egypt with Cleopatra when their fortunes in war turned against them. But the royal couple couldn't escape misfortune. The following year, when Octavian arrived in Egypt with his army, Antony had to commit suicide to escape imprisonment. When Cleopatra learned about Antony 's death, she was shocked. She was taken a prisoner of Octavian, restricted by his guards to part of her own palace. Shattered by her husband's death and her captivity, with the help of some loyal subjects, she arranged for a small poisonous snake, an asp, to be smuggled into her quarters in a basket of figs.

Then, Cleopatra ordered her chambermaids to leave her. She put on her royal robes, lied on a couch of gold, and applied the asp to her breast. A little later she was found dead.

Great love demands great sacrifices. The love of Antony and Cleopatra epitomize that love is another name for sacrifice.

About Valentine's Day

ANDA sering tidak tahu apa itu perayaaan hari Valentine yang sebenarnya? Saat ini banyak orang-orang yang tak tahu sejarah terciptanya valentine. Maka dari itu, ketahuilah sejarah Valentine jika Anda ingin merayakan Valentine. Menurut sumber yang sangat dipercaya, Valentine berawal dari sebuah perayaan Lupercalia yang tak lain adalah rangkaian upacara pensucian di masa Romawi Kuno (13-18 Februari).

Dua hari pertama, dipersembahkan untuk dewi cinta (queen of feverish love) Juno Februata. Pada hari ini, para pemuda mengundi nama ?nama gadis di dalam kotak. Lalu setiap pemuda mengambil nama secara acak dan gadis yang namanya keluar harus menjadi pasangannya selama setahun untuk senang-senang dan obyek hiburan. Pada 15 Februari, mereka meminta perlindungan dewa Lupercalia dari gangguan srigala. Selama upacara ini, kaum muda melecut orang dengan kulit binatang dan wanita berebut untuk dilecut karena anggapan lecutan itu akan membuat mereka menjadi lebih subur.
Ketika agama Kristen Katolik masuk Roma, mereka mengadopsi upacara ini dan mewarnainya dengan nuansa Kristiani, antara lain mengganti nama-nama gadis dengan nama-nama Paus atau Pastor. Di antara pendukungnya adalah Kaisar Konstantine dan Paus Gregory I (lihat: The Encyclopedia Britannica, sub judul: Christianity). Dan pada 496 M Paus Gelasius I menjadikan upacara Romawi Kuno ini menjadi Hari Perayaan Gereja dengan nama Saint Valentine’s Day untuk menghormati St.Valentine yang kebetulan
mati pada 14 Februari (lihat: The World Book Encyclopedia 1998).
The Catholic Encyclopedia Vol. XV sub judul St. Valentine menuliskan ada 3 nama Valentine yang mati pada 14 Februari, seorang di antaranya dilukiskan sebagai yang mati pada masa Romawi. Namun demikian tidak pernah ada penjelasan siapa St. Valentine termaksud, juga dengan kisahnya yang tidak pernah diketahui ujung-pangkalnya karena tiap sumber mengisahkan cerita yang berbeda.
Tapi menurut versi PERTAMA, Kaisar Claudius II memerintahkan menangkap dan memenjarakan St. Valentine. Ia adalah seorang Bishop (Pendeta) di Terni, satu tempat sekitar 60 mil dari Roma. Iapun dikejar-kejar karena mempengaruhi beberapa keluarga Romawi dan memasukkan mereka ke dalam agama Kristen. Kemudian ia dipancung di Roma sekitar tahun 273 masehi.
Sebelum kepalanya dipenggal, Bishop (Pendeta) itu mengirim surat kepada para putri penjaga-penjaga penjara dengan mendoakan semoga bisa melihat dan mendapat kasih sayang Tuhan dan kasih sayang manusia. ?Dari Valentinemu? demikian tulis Valentine pada akhir suratnya itu. Surat itu tertanggal 14 Februari 270 M. sehingga tanggal tersebut ditetapkan sebagai Valentine?s Day atau Hari Kasih Sayang.
Versi KEDUA, menceritakan bahwa Kaisar Claudius II menganggap tentara muda bujangan lebih tabah dan kuat dalam medan peperangan dari pada orang yang menikah. Kaisar lalu melarang para pemuda untuk menikah, namun St.Valentine melanggarnya dan diam-diam menikahkan banyak pemuda sehingga iapun ditangkap dan dihukum gantung pada 14 Februari 269 M (lihat: The World Book Encyclopedia, 1998).
Versi KETIGA, perayaan ini dihubungkan dengan St. Valentine, seorang Pendeta yang hidup di Roma pada tahun 200 masehi, dibawah kekuasaan Kaisar Claudius II. St. Valentine ini pernah ditangkap oleh orang-orang Romawi dan dimasukkan ke dalam penjara, karena dituduh membantu satu pihak untuk memusuhi dan menentang Kaisar. St. Valentine ini berhasil ditangkap pada akhir tahun 270 masehi. Kemudian orang-orang Romawi memenggal kepalanya di Palatine Hill (Bukit Palatine) dekat altar Juno.
Adapun kebiasaan mengirim kartu Valentine yang sering dilakukan pada saat perayaan hari kasih sayang tersebut, sebenarnya tidak ada kaitan langsung dengan St. Valentine. Pada 1415 M ketika the Duke of Orleans dipenjara di Tower of London, pada perayaan hari gereja mengenang St.Valentine 14 Februari, ia mengirim puisi kepada istrinya di Perancis. Kemudian Geoffrey Chaucer, penyair Inggris mengkaitkannya dengan musim
kawin burung dalam puisinya (lihat: The Encyclopedia Britannica, Vol.12 hal.242 , The World Book Encyclopedia, 1998).
Lalu bagaimana dengan ucapan “Be My Valentine? Ken Sweiger dalam artikel Should Biblical Christians Observe It?? mengatakan kata Valentine berasal dari Latin yang berarti : ?Yang Maha Perkasa, Yang Maha Kuat dan Yang Maha Kuasa. Kata ini ditujukan kepada Nimrod dan Lupercus, tuhan orang Romawi. Maka disadari atau tidak, -tulis Ken Sweiger- jika kita meminta orang menjadi, to be my Valentine, hal itu berarti menduakan Tuhan (karena memintanya menjadi Sang Maha Kuasa) dan menghidupkan budaya pemujaan kepada berhala. Adapun lambang Cupid (berarti: the desire), si bayi bersayap dengan panah adalah putra Nimrod the hunter dewa Matahari. Disebut tuhan Cinta, karena ia rupawan sehingga diburu wanita bahkan ia pun berzina dengan ibunya sendiri!
Di Indonesia, perayaan valentine’s day mulai membudaya di kalangan masyarakat kita khususnya dikalangan kawula muda, sekitar akhir tahun 1980-an berbarengan dengan munculnya televisi-televisi swasta yang banyak mengupas dan menayangkan berita ataupun film-film yang bertemakan perayaan tersebut. Sejak itulah, perayaan valentine’s day digandrungi oleh para generasi muda, sebagai akibat dari penetrasi budaya asing yang
masuk lewat pemberitaan berbagai media baik cetak maupun elektronik.
Perayaan ini pun dikenal oleh mereka sebagai perayaan hari kasih sayang, yang menurut mereka adalah moment yang paling tepat untuk mengungkapakan perasaan cita dan kasih sayang kepada orang-orang yang dekat di hati. Perayaan ini biasanya dilaksanakan di kafe-kafe, hotel-hotel atau tempat-tempat yang romantis, di mana setiap pasangan memberikan hadiah berupa kue coklat atau bunga yang bertuliskan ‘I wish you will be my valentine’ kepada yang lain.
Yang lebih mengejutkan, ada beberapa acara yang sering digelar diberbagai tempat rahasia di Metropolitan, belakangan ini, pesta perayaan valentine’s day dirayakan dengan perbuatan-perbuatan yang amoral dan jauh dari temanya itu sendiri. Banyak kita dapatkan di pemberitaan televisi maupun koran-koran sekelompok anak muda yang menghabiskan malam perayaan tersebut dengan pesta seks dan narkoba.
Padahal untuk menyatakan cinta dan menyebarkan cinta, secara langsung dan tak langsung ada pada sifat dan sikap setiap manusia yang baik disetiap harinya. Dan itu lebih bermanfaat.
